What is casein? Differences to whey?
Casein is also known as night protein or slow-digesting protein and belongs to the most popular and most consumed nutritional supplements in the fitness industry. One main difference between casein and whey is in the way it is processed by the body. Casein is absorbed slower than whey. Its amino acids are absorbed into the blood stream over a continuous period of 6 to 8 hours, until amino acid levels reach a maximum in the blood. This way the muscles are supplied with protein over a lover period of time.
Whey on the other hand is absorbed very quickly. After intake the amino acid levels already reach a maximum after 20-40 minutes, which means that muscles are being provided with protein faster.
Maximum results with the correct intake.
Whey: For the fast supply of muscles we recommend Whey Protein before and after workout plus as a snack.
Casein: For the perfect supply of muscles overnight we recommend the intake of Casein Protein just before bedtime and in between meals.
